WHAT IS RUSH?

Rush, also known as recruitment, is a period of time when you can get to know the sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda and learn about what our sorority stands for. 

DO I HAVE TO PAY?

No! All rush events are free and non-binding.

 

 

HOW DO I GET AN INTERVIEW?

In order to qualify for an interview, you must attend at least 1 General Information Meeting and 2 pillar events. 

WHAT IS A BID?

A bid is an invitation to an individual from our Associate Chapter to begin the process to join Kappa Phi Lambda and be a part of our new member process. In order to be eligible for a bid, the interested individual must attend the required number of rush events and take part in an interview.

DO I HAVE TO BE ASIAN?

No! Although we are an Asian-interest sorority, we are not Asian-exclusive. We strongly encourage women of all background to consider joining. Our third pillar is Cultural Diversity, and we vow to uphold that pillar by creating a place for women of all backgrounds to embrace their differences while spreading cultural awareness. Our current membership boasts of women from a diverse array of cultures. We celebrate this diversity by holding cultural events highlighting many different cultures, nationalities, and ethnic groups. 

WHAT IS YOUR VIEW ON HAZING?

Kappa Phi Lambda enforces a strict anti-hazing policy enforced by the National Constitution and Risk Management Policy and in accordance with university policies and state laws. 
All existing and prospective members have the right to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect. There is never a moment that Kappa Phi Lambda would put you in an embarrassing or harmful situation. 
Hence, our New Member Process is positive, and focuses on nurturing prospective members to become women of values and vision.
